CARRT Honors Beverly Hills for Collaborative Efforts in Reducing Retail Theft
On behalf of Californians Against Retail and Residential Theft (CARRT), we proudly presented an award to the City of Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills Police Department, and the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce in recognition of their outstanding collaborative efforts in reducing retail crime.
In 2023, California saw retail theft rise by 35%. However, due to the proactive measures taken by cities like Beverly Hills, retail crime has dropped by 12% this year. This impressive decrease is a testament to the innovative strategies employed by Beverly Hills, including the integration of advanced technology such as drones and surveillance cameras, and the steadfast support from the city government in backing these initiatives.
Beverly Hills is the third city to receive the CARRT Award, following Lakewood and Stockton. We commend the partnership between the city, law enforcement, and local businesses for their commitment to creating a safer environment for residents, visitors, and retailers. We hope that Beverly Hills’s success serves as a model for other communities across California.
We are excited to continue our mission of combating retail and residential theft with the support of cities like Beverly Hills and the collective efforts of our 300+ members.
